Frequently Asked Questions
Answers that will ensure a hassle free stay at our superior villas

Are the villas suitable for physically challenged people?
These two-storey villas have a staircase leading up to the first floor. There are steps up to the front doors as well. There is a cloakroom on the ground floor (toilet and sink) and a bathroom and shower room on the upper floors. All door frames are of a standard size. The pools have metal ladder steps.

Are tourists allowed to bring children along with them?
Yes, they most certainly are! The villas have specifically been designed with families in mind. We have a selection of children's cutlery, plastic cups and plates and a range of beach/pool toys available for your use. We also have a stair gate, cot and high chair in each villa. The pool is shallow at one end (8m x 4m (depth 1.6m deep end/1m shallow end)) . The villa is fully enclosed by walls, fences and gates. And all the doors and windows have safety locks on them.

Is it possible to stay in touch with folks back home?
There are no phones in the villas, but mobile reception is very good. There is an Internet cafe with WIFI just around the corner. It also serves really good food.

Whom do we turn to if we run into some problem?
We have British caretakers who look after the property and change-overs for us. Their details are in the information pack sent with every confirmed booking and will be included in your welcome letter when you arrive at the villas.

Is the airport close by?
Larnaca is the nearest airport and is 45km away – approximately 45mins – 1 hours drive. We provide you with very comprehensive directions to the villa before you depart. Paphos is on the other side of the island, and the drive is approximately 2-3 hours.

Is it necessary to hire a car?
The villa is within walking distance of all amenities—a water park, several bars and restaurants. You can walk to Protaras along the coast in 30–45 minutes. Taxis are available in Pernera. However, hiring a car will allow you to explore a wider area and it may be easier if you need to visit the supermarkets outside of the resort. In the resort you will pay slightly higher tourist prices. We give you directions to the alternative supermarkets in our welcome letter.

How far away is the beach from the villas?
Approximately 3-5 minutes away. The beaches are all very close and you do not have to cross any busy roads. We have an exit at the back of the development which takes you to one of the local beaches. From the front exit of the development, you simply turn right and walk down the end of that road and you arrive at the other local beach.

At what distance is the nearest supermarket from the villa?
There is a supermarket right outside the entrance to the Crystal Lagoon development, which is about 50 metres away from the villa. This is a great supermarket with all the brands you would recognise from the UK. It may be slightly more expensive than the 3 alternatives just outside of the resort which are: Carrefour, Kokkinos and Orphanide.
Are there any good bars and restaurants nearby?
Pernera has a wide range of bars, tavernas and restaurants, all within walking distance. There is a wide choice of cuisine (Mexican, Greek, British, French, Italian to name but a few) to suit all budgets. Further information about eating out is in our information pack.
Can we get the swimming pool heated?
Pool heating is available at the cost of gas fills which is around €150 per fill. This should last for approximately 1 week (up to two fills may be required in winter depending on running temperature). If you would like the pool to be heated, please advise at the time you make your booking so it gives us time to book it in with the pool maintenance company.
What kind of outdoor activities can a tourist indulge in?
You can relax by the pool or on the beach, participate in local water sports or visit the local water park (or the big water park in Ayia Napa (highly recommended). You can cycle, walk, fish or go for a boat trip. You can go in to Protaras where a whole host of tourist activities are available. You can explore the National Park at Cape Greko, which is laced with hiking and biking trails. You can while away the hours in cafes, restaurants or tavernas or visit historical sites and other places of interest. In the evenings you can party until you drop, or just relax in front of the television or dine al fresco by the pool.
Do we have access to satellite TV beaming in English programmes?
Yes, the TV is connected to “Arabsat” which includes approximately 25 channels showing news, music, fashion, sports, films, series, talk shows and cartoons. It includes a 24hour film channel plus some other channels that show all the popular American series eg CSI, 24, Alias, House, Grey’s Anatomy, Bones, Cold Case, etc. There is BBC Prime which shows a lot of BBC television repeat programs and also up-to-date East Enders; but not Coronation Street! There is also a DVD player with a wide choice of films for adults and children. Last – but not least - there is a PlayStation 2 and a selection of games to keep the kids amused. BUT you can lock it away if you don’t want them to use it!
